I have been creating mobiles since 1969. Mostly self-taught. Studied metal sculpture construction under Steven Nocella at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts for a couple of years in the early 1990s. Greatly influence by Alexander Calder.
I am intrigued by the soaring movement of birds in flight, the shapes of plants and weathered mountains.
The evolution of my work involves the shapes of the various elements becoming more in harmony with each other while suggesting as a whole some sense of motion even when perfectly still.
I enjoy the challenge of bringing together the three-dimensional aspect along with motion and color to create an integrated experience.
